500,000 Pageview Special – My Top 45 Songs Of All-Time

Let me just start off by thanking you guys for helping us to get 500,000 pageviews on my Hits 1 Weekend Countdown blog. I appreciate everything you do for that site. For the 500,000 pageview milestone post, I'll be counting down 45 of my all-time favorite songs. A ton of these songs are songs from my childhood. You may recognize some of these songs, others you may not. These songs aren't too old so you should know a good chunk of them since they were hits at some point. But I'll tell you this now, there are no songs from this year (2015). Now, I believe we're ready to dive right into it, so here we go!

The Countdown

45. Linkin Park/Steve Aoki – A Light That Never Comes
Comments: Linkin Park fans would probably kill me for saying this is their best song since it's not their typical rock song. It's more EDM thanks to Steve Aoki. And guess what? I love EDM! This song was a score for the band in my opinion. Very catchy. I'm always coming back around to it.

44. Shakira/Wyclef Jean – Hips Don't Lie
Comments: I've heard some pretty good stuff from Shakira. This is definitely one of her best. Wyclef Jean contributes a lot to this song. There was a time when I was just addicted to this song.

43. Maroon 5 – This Love
Comments: This is a classic from Maroon 5 that a lot of people look at as one of their best songs. Definitely one of their best. It just had to make this list.

42. B.o.B/Hayley Williams – Airplanes
Comments: One of B.o.B's biggest mainstream hits. Paramore's Hayley Williams does a nice job in the chorus. I also liked the Part 2 version of this song included in the same album which features Eminem. But the original is a classic.

41. JoJo – Leave (Get Out)
Comments: This song is downright catchy. I really like the chorus of this one and it was always stuck in my head! Don't even get me started JoJo's amazing voice!

40. Justin Timberlake/Timbaland – SexyBack
Comments: "I'm bringing SexyBack," is pretty much a classic lyric. I love just about everything about this song. It's pretty damn catchy. Anything with Timbaland ends up being really good, and this is a good example.

39. Pitbull/Ne-Yo/Afrojack/Nayer – Give Me Everything
Comments: Ne-Yo's vocals are pretty much always on point and I love just about everything song he's involved with. I love Afrojack's beat. Pitbull also does an excellent job in this song.

38. John Mayer – Heartbreak Warfare
Comments: John Mayer, overall, is one of my least favorite singers. I think his voice is annoying and I just don't like it. However, this song is probably the only exception. I feel as though John Mayer's irritating voice actually blends and fits in with this song and it actually sounded exceptionally well. This was hands-down John Mayer's best song.

37. Ke$ha – TiK ToK
Comments: Oh Ke$ha. This song was a really big hit back in 2010, I believe. At times in this song, she's a singer. At other times in this song, she tries to be a rapper. Whatever it is, I loved it and it sucks that she hasn't really done much music-wise lately.

36. Eminem – Not Afraid
Comments: Eminem is one of my favorites. This was the first song I've heard from him as a solo artist and let me just say that it really is amazing. I always look back on this song as the very first song I've heard from Eminem.

35. Taylor Swift – Love Story
Comments: With 1989, I feel as though a lot of people forgot about her older music including this song. This was the first song I've ever heard from Taylor Swift and I absolutely loved it. It's a perfect example of a song that is not about a breakup. In fact, it's a sweet sweet love song.

34. David Guetta/Sia – Titanium
Comments: Sia can really belt out this song. Congrats to David Guetta for producing this amazing song. I absolutely love it and had it on repeat back in 2012.

33. John Newman – Love Me Again
Comments: My initial reaction to this song was pretty damn good. And it only got better from there. John Newman just has this interesting voice that I love. This song was even pretty successful here in the United States. I just really love this song.

32. Taio Cruz/Ludacris – Break Your Heart
Comments: This upbeat catchy tune was a huge score for Mr. Taio Cruz here. Back when it was popular, I just couldn't get enough of this song. It's so damn catchy and Taio Cruz has a pretty solid voice. I really have to thank Taio Cruz for making this awesome song.

31. Kanye West/Chris Martin – Homecoming
Comments: One of the few songs I actually like from Kanye West. This one is a classic. Kanye West, I'll admit, does a nice job in the verses. Chris Martin does a nice job in the chorus. Everything in this song fits and fits well.

30. Cascada – Everytime We Touch
Comments: A more energetic song that seems like it would make a great addition to some workout playlist. Let's be reall here, Cascada can produce some pretty sick beats! Natalie Horler has a really nice voice. You know you have a hit when the beat and vocals are on point! This was definitely a favorite of mine.

29. Calvin Harris/John Newman – Blame
Comments: I remember highly anticipating this song's release and I definitely was not disappointed. As I said earlier, I love John Newman's voice. Calvin Harris is an awesome EDM producer. This song did become a hit worldwide and I was definitely happy about that. As the #1 song of 2014, it just had to make this list.

28. Ke$ha – We R Who We R
Comments: I had this one on repeat for a good while. Ke$ha did amazingly well when it came to the production of this song. It's a song that you could jam out to a party with all your friends.

27. Rihanna/Drake – What's My Name?
Comments: While I think the title of this song is kind of stupid, it's just way too catchy to say no to. I remember loving Rihanna at the time (I still do). This song was definitely one of her best.

26. Bruno Mars – Just The Way You Are
Comments: Back when Bruno Mars was actually good, we had this sweet song that was catchy at the same time. It's one of the few Bruno Mars that doesn't have perverted lyrics. I really like the beat and Mars' voice is pretty good as well. Score for Bruno Mars.

25. JoJo – Too Little Too Late
Comments: This song really shows what this girl's voice can do! Especially right before that final chorus. Her voice shines like gold in this song. I love it! It was definitely my jam at one point.

24. Flo Rida/Sia – Wild Ones
Comments: I believe this was Sia's first mainstream hit. It's definitely Flo Rida's best song. He's one of my favorite rappers in my opinion. Sia does an excellent job in the chorus. Radio did kill this one but I've grown back into it and now love it just as much as I did when I first heard it.

23. Coldplay – In My Place
Comments: Coldplay was my favorite band as a child. I pretty much listened to their entire album, A Rush Of Blood To The Head, as a kid. I rarely listen to this song anymore. But back when my dad introduced me to it, I loved it, and I'll always remember that.

22. Owl City – Fireflies
Comments: One of my childhood songs here! I always thought this kind of electronic-pop music was really cool and this song does use that. I love how it starts off kind of quiet and explodes in that chorus. My history teacher emphasized how much she hates this band and this song. But I honestly love this one so much.

21. Shinedown – Second Chance
Comments: I do think lead vocalist, Brent Smith, has a nice raspy voice. I was not a fan of their new album. But I think this song and If You Only Knew (which didn't make the list) are the band's best songs.

20. The Black Eyed Peas – Just Can't Get Enough
Comments: Probably the best performance I've ever heard from will.i.am. He really does suck as a solo artist which makes it hard to believe he was part of this awesome band, The Black Eyed Peas. This song was very well put together and definitely one of the best I've heard from the band.

19. Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars
Comments: Honestly, who doesn't love this song? It starts off slow and gets louder as each chorus passes by. By the time we reach that final chorus, the song really does explode into this masterpiece. The vocals in this song are really smooth and really fit this song. The song was also wrote exceptionally well. I just love it in every way.

18. Coldplay/Rihanna – Princess Of China
Comments: I love Coldplay. I love Rihanna. Two of my favorite artists in one song means it just has to be good. And as a matter of fact, it was amazing. The sound in the background throughout a good chunk of the song sounds very interesting and instantly hooks me in. I had high expectations for a song with two of my favorite artists, and this song exceeded those expectations.

17. The Offspring – Self Esteem
Comments: This is probably the oldest song on this list. I don't even remember where I first heard it, but that chorus really caught my attention. I've listened to maybe one or two other songs from these guys, but this one really stuck on me.

16. Kanye West – Stronger
Comments: Omg! Another song from an artist who is talentless most of the time and thinks he can run for president in 2020. I'll admit, that chorus is one of the catchiest choruses I've ever heard. His rap verses aren't the best, but the beat and chorus are what made this such a catchy song that happened to be my #16 favorite song of all-time.

15. Train – Hey, Soul Sister
Comments: This is and most likely always will be Train's best song. I've heard a lot from them and I always look back on this song.

14. Usher/Jay-Z – Hot Tottie
Comments: Another one of my childhood songs! Please note that as a kid, I didn't care about the lyrics in songs like this one. I only cared that it was catchy. Usher has a really great voice and this was back when Jay-Z was pretty good.

13. Bad Meets Evil/Bruno Mars – Lighters
Comments: I never really heard much from this hip-hop duo. I had only caught on to this song right here. Bruno Mars showed off his amazing vocals yet again. Anything that involved Eminem around this time period was really good, including this song right here.

12. Adam Lambert – Whataya Want From Me
Comments: Adam Lambert is bae. He is a really great singer and this song along with a bunch of others from his debut studio album were amazing. This song is what got me into Adam Lambert.

11. B.o.B/Bruno Mars – Nothin' On You
Comments: Yes, another song with Bruno Mars, shockingly. Bruno Mars did an amazing job with the chorus of this song. I think B.o.B's verses flowed very smoothly. Definitely one of my favorites.

10. Nickelback – If Today Was Your Last Day
Comments: This band is definitely my favorite rock band. A lot of people title them as the worst band ever. But I disagree 100%. Nickelback is one of my childhood bands and this song is just amazing. A lot of people hate them because they apparently sound too "pop" to be in the rock category, but to be honest, that's probably the reason why I love these guys. This is one of those meaningful songs that's so freaking catchy at the same time. This song is a nice way to kick off the Top 10 of this list.

9. Kevin Rudolf/Birdman/Jay Sean/Lil Wayne – I Made It
Comments: This alternative/rock artist had his fame with this song, then kind of disappeared. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted. This song sets a good example for how songs should be produced. I'll admit, I can live without Lil Wayne's verse. But aside from that, the song's production was done very well.

8. Tinie Tempah/Eric Turner – Written In The Stars
Comments: This song was produced extremely well. Eric Turner did an amazing job in the chorus and Tinie Tempah's verses flowed very nicely. I loved how this song turned out and it will always be a favorite of mine.

7. Timbaland/Keri Hilson/D.O.E. – The Way I Are
Comments: Who didn't love this song? I absolutely love this beat. And it's amazing producer, Timbaland, we're talking about here. Keri Hilson was an excellent choice for vocals in the chorus. Her voice just fits in with the song very well and I'm quite impressed with how this song turned out.

6. Lady Antebellum – Need You Now
Comments: This is the one and only country song to appear in this list. This group did an amazing job with this song. The line, "It's a quarter after one. I'm alone and I need you now," for whatever reason always gets stuck in my head. They have solid vocals that blend together nicely. This song peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, which is pretty damn high.

5. Dr. Dre/Eminem/Skylar Grey – I Need A Doctor
Comments: This song has a really nice meaning as it's about Dr. Dre and Eminem's relationship and how Dr. Dre was the start of Eminem's career. All of their verses worked out really well and Skylar Grey's part in the chorus sounds amazing.

4. Nickelback – How You Remind Me
Comments: Like I said with If Today Was Your Last Day, Nickelback is one of my favorite bands. This song is exceeds my expectations by a lot. This song has good instrumentals and I really like Chad Kroeger's voice. This was ranked the #1 song of 2002 by Billboard and spent many weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was a really successful song and I absolutely love it!

3. OneRepublic/Timbaland – Apologize
Comments: Classic right here. This is definitely OneRepublic's best song. It peaked at #1 in several different countries. It's a very known and loved song by the world. It was absolutely amazing for their debut single.

2. Maroon 5 – She Will Be Loved
Comments: This song is where my love for Maroon 5 began. They did an incredible job with this song. I was always singing along to this. It's a song I cannot forget about because this is how the amazing band, Maroon 5, began in my book. This song came very close to being the #1 song on this list. But it just didn't make the cut. This next song absolutely wowed me from the first time I heard all the way up to this day. And that song is.....

1. Eminem/Rihanna – Love The Way You Lie
Comments: The song that went diamond in the United States. It spent 7 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also #1 in many countries. It really was one of Eminem's biggest hits of his career. Rihanna does an excellent job in the chorus. Eminem's rap verses are just flawless. You seriously cannot compare other rappers to Eminem. This man is the god of rap. This song really was something for both of these talented artists. I'm always rapping along to Eminem's verses. Rihanna's chorus is mesmerizing. This collab is personally one of my favorite collabs. The song is absolutely incredible. It will definitely stick with me for the rest of my life. That just about wraps this post up! These were my 45 favorite songs of all-time! Thanks for reading guys!
